Also called caps, crowns can be used on both front and back teeth. This type of restoration is typically used on teeth that are decayed or broken, as well as those where a filling is no longer an option. A crown can be made from a variety of materials including porcelain. A finished crown restores a tooth’s strength and provides you with long-lasting, natural-looking restoration.

To save our patients time, we are proud to offer same-day crown services. Most crown procedures require two appointments, but with our CEREC Technology, we are able to produce single tooth restorations in one visit. This eliminates the need for temporary crowns, dental impressions, and the need for a second appointment to place your new crown. This system works by taking a photo of your tooth, which is converted into a 3D image that is used to design your custom-made restoration.

When a cavity has reached the pulp of a tooth, endodontic therapy — a root canal — is necessary. This procedure may also be necessary if you have experienced severe trauma to a tooth. During a root canal, the interior of the tooth is cleaned out and disinfected, and the infected pulp is removed. The canals of the tooth are then sealed to prevent future bacterial infections. To finish the procedure, the tooth is restored with a filling or crown, which creates added stability and strength. This restores the tooth to normal function.

When removing a tooth is the best option for restoring your dental health, a dental extraction will be performed. Together with you, we will explore the available treatments, as well as replacement options for the tooth. It is important to replace the extracted tooth to prevent future problems with your oral health and surrounding teeth.

Natural tooth-colored fillings are used to restore teeth after cavities have been removed. A composite or white filling is a more conservative restoration option than silver/amalgam fillings. This type of filling protects against broken teeth, saves natural tooth structure, and improves tooth stability, color, and strength. Once it’s placed, the composite material is virtually undetectable, as it is carefully matched to your tooth structure and color.

If you are missing all of most of your teeth, dentures can provide you with a great restorative option. Partials may be recommended if you still retain some of your natural teeth. Both dentures and partials are designed to enhance your smile and are made to look like your natural teeth. You may find that a full set of dentures even gives you a better smile than you had before! Our team works with each patient to determine which restoration fits their immediate and long-term dental health needs.

Digital x-rays use small sensors instead of traditional film. There are many advantages to uses 3D diagnostic images and digital x-rays: it uses less radiation, saves time, and allows our dental healthcare team to view enhanced images of your teeth and mouth. These types of images give us the clearest view of your mouth, while reducing the amount of radiation you are subject to.
